EXPORT OF MEAT.

PREMIER’S NEW SCHEME. The hint of an important statement pending regarding the marketing of New Zealand produce in Britain has given rise to a good deal of discussion, and there is considerable speculation as to what Mr. Massey is referring to. A representative of the Wellington Times learned on excellent authority that the Government is considering the question of encouraging the producers to combine with the object of forming an organisation which will control the whole output of meat from this country to the United Kingdom. The organisation will supply the British market with meat as it may require, and will be able to assist the producers’ finances in the ease of it being necessary at any time to hold the meat back so as to prevent a glut such as ; has taken place lately.
