CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS.

THE HOURS FOR SHOPS. Shops in New Plymouth are observing the weekly half-holiday this afternoon instead of on Saturday as usual, the alteration having been made for this week in view of the Xmas holidays. On Saturday (Xmas Eve) the shops will be open till 10 p.m. and will then -be closed till the following Wednesday morning, when business will resume. On New Year’s Eve the retailers will keep their premises open till 10 p.m. and will then observe holidays on Monday and Tuesday, January 2 and 3.
