ADVANCE NEW PLYMOUTH.

As instancing the rapid growth of the port of New Plymouth, and its value as a distributing centre, still another big oil company has decided to extend operations to its shores, and has .already taken over one of the Taranaki Oil Company’s stores, where it intends to carry a complete stock of motor spirit, kerosene and lubricating oils. The company referred to is the Star Oil Company, .Ltd., which is a New Zealand capitalised concern handling the products of the Texas Oil Co., Ltd., of Port Arthur, Texas, which in turn is the largest and one of .the oldest co-operative concerns' in America. Although an American concern the bulk of the capital employed is British, and the company handles only the very highest grade products it is possible to obtain. This is chiefly due to the fact that the company has its own private wells, and from the time the oil leaves the ground to the time it is put into the containers it never leaves their chemist’s care. The Star Oil Co.’s shipment of 10,000 eases of Texaco motor spirit and Light of the Agg koroser.. is due to arrive at. New Plymouth during the first week in January, and is being offered at the present’ market price, less sixpence per Messrs Nolan and Co., of New Plymouth. have been appointed the company's wholesale distributors for Taranaki and the surrounding districts, and motor spirit and kerosene users will be well advised to get in and secure a few cases of these products and try them out. —Advt.
