RIFLE SHOOTING.
IMPERIAL CHALLENGE SHIELD. SUCCESS OF N.P. HIGH SCIIOOL. The results of the Imperial Challenge Shield competitions, which are competed for by the cadets of the British Empire, are to hand, and it is pleasing to note once again the successes gained by the cadets of the New Plymouth Bays’ High School. The number of teams that, competed for 1921 was 820 for the senior and 592 for the junior. In the senior competition New Plymouth entered five teams, the first four of which gained places on the prize list. In the junior three teams were entered, and all gained prizes. The detailed results are as follows:
The local boys gained the distinction of being specially mentioned for entering a large number of teams successfully, as they obtained the best average for New Zealand and scored best for the Empire.
