ESTIMATES OF DAMAGE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Dec. 14. The Herald estimates the fire damage at £600,000, while the Telegraph puts it at £1,000,000, including the value of the building. The actual insurance is not disclosed, but it is roughly estimated at £400,000. Heavy volumes of smoke are pouring from the smouldering wool, which is likely to continue for days. The wool losses represent about 6 per cent, of the total amount awaiting auction in Sydney The Finance Association supplied :l large number of residents in North Sydney with electric light and power, and as the electric plant was destroyed the residents are robbed of supplies.
