THE STOCK MARKET. PRICES AT WESTFIELD. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The following prices ruled at Westfield today : Beef. —Medium yarding; prices improved considerably on last week’s, being a rise of 3s to 4s per 1001 b; extra choice oX, 26s ; prime, 24s to 18s; second quality, ISsHo 15s; prime young cows and heifers, 20s; others, 15s to 10s. Sheep.—Good yarding; prices slightly better; prime wethers, 16s 6d; good, 15s to 12s 6d; others, 12s to 10s; ewes, good, Ils; others, 10s to .ss. Lambs.—Very full yarding; steady demand throughout; quality generally good: extra good, 16s 6d; prime, 16s to Ils 6d; others, Ils to 8s 6d. Calves.—Came forward in large numbers and completely glutted the market, only the best being saleable; good running to £4; others, £3 to £1 10s; vealers, £2 5s to £1 6s; fresh dropped, 8s to ss. DAIRY PRODUCE MARKET. Messrs. A. H. Turnbull and Co. have received a cablegram from Messrs. W. Weddel and Co., Ltd., London, dated December 9, advising as follows: Danish butter, 210 s to 2125; market weak, tending downwards. New Zealand butter, first grade, 170 s to 180 s; Government, 164 s to 1745; New Zealand cheese, white 100 s to 104 s; New Zealand cheese, colored, 98s to 100 s; market quiet.
