ATHLETICS.
N.Z. TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph—Tress AssoclatlonWellington, Last Night. The following have been selected to represent the Dominion at the Australasian athletic championships: P. Munro (Wellington). shot, discus, javelin and hammer; R. M. Webber (Auckland), one and three miles; C. H. Taylor (Canterbury), 440 yards, 880 yards and one mile. G. Davidson and H. E. Wilson, are not available. The team will probably leave Auckland by the Manuka on Thursday next. ’The New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association requires another £5O to cover the expenses of the trip, as no profit was received from the Dominion championships, the centres being asked to subscribe the following amounts: Auckland, £25; Canterbury, £l5; Otago, £lO. Wellington, Last Night. Munro (Wellington) cannot make the trip to Australia to take part in the athletic championships, and E. G. Sutherland has been chosen to represent the Dominion in putting the shot, discus, javelin, broad and long jump, and pole vault. The team will leave Auckland on Thursday by the Manuka. 'Mr. S. Cox, of Christchurch, will act as manager and trainer, and with Mr. L. S. Marks, of Sydney, will represent New Zealand on the Board of Control
