Jersey Breeders’ Association is going to forward draft rules lo this club for its guidance in that important matter, it has been found necessary for the Inglewood Cnib to change its name from “Jersey Breeders Club” to “Jersey Cattle Club, because so may clubs have names that are so nearly like that of tne present association that confusion has at timjrS been caused, ‘"Cattle Club is, therefore, yow the correct title. Mr. E. Ife spoke also, on the subject of in-breeding and of advertising. The chief point on the latter subject that he emphasised was the necessity for having something worth advertising first, and then to keep on with the publicity all the time. Even when ope fiad nothing fqr ipimevßate sale, if only to keep in touch W'tb one’s public and' be kept ip memory. Mr. Griffiths also had a number of excellent photographs of the most celebrated Jprseys of the presept day. These were .ery useful tp i|lustratg fiis op type and the leading points. They were carefully scrutinised b.y all precept, and will no’doubt be remembered by members .as guides in their selection when buying A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. Griffiths for his address.. and warm wishes expressed for an encore on some future occasion. Mr. V. Harkness has been asked to i"ead a paper on “Line Breeding at the next meeting of thp club, which should draw a full gathering. Jt wjll lie duly potifiefi, so pxembers should, keep on the jook-out for the advertisement. ’ It is proposed to have a deiponstration later in the summer at some ceptral place, to which members can firing cattle to be criticised, or. as they say.’ “dissected.” M«. Griffiths very kindly cop -.ppted to ‘ittend any depiuustratiou held under the club’s auspices and point out to owners th e weaknesses or nther.visg pi eattlp submitted fur critic isni , n | Altogether the meeting, though small, (was eminently satisfactory, and Jersey [breeders, who desire to benefit by the club’s operations, should make a point oi attending lhe meetings which will he held fiom lime to time, and nt which triucli valuable information on this important subject will be freely offered.
