INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) December 9. The Floral and Wheelbarrow Fair held in the Town Hall on Thursday resulted very satisfactorily. Quite a number of wheelbarrow stalls were in evidence to do business with visitors to the function, and those of Mesdames Chambers and Collingwood tied fob first place, The musical programme, which was carried out while the fair was in progress, was as follows: Orchestra selection, Mr. Wilson’s orchestra; song, Mr. Smith; song. Miss F. Sutherland; song. Miss Parry (encored), recitation. Mrs. Longbottom; duet. Mrs. Allen and Mr. Smith; quartette, ‘‘Hail Smiling Morn”; song. Mrs. Allen; selection, orchestra; vocal duet, Miss Parry and Mr. Smith; song Mr. Smith; finale Gott Save the King. The success financially is in the region o" £5O. Cftif innoculation. as ft preventive of blackleg, was carried on at Inglewood by officers of the Stock Department on Tuesday iri the foreiidon. at Newton King. Ltd.’s yards, Dudley Road, where 77 animals Were treated, and at the Farmers’ Co-op. yards, Junction Road, in the afternoon, where 83 were submitted to the operation; a grand total of 160. Another day is to be decided on, of whi'cli due notice will be given, foi* the Stock Department officers recognise that 160 comprises but a small proper tiori or the young stock that rife ready for innoculat'ion in the district. At Messrs. Marsfi Bros., on Upland Road, over 100 were put through, arid at Mr. Bennett’s, op Lepper Road pvei HO in one day . so surely IngTewobd can record ; a better tally than 160 in the two local saleyard|i.
