RECORD BUTTER OUTPUT.

INCREASE OF .100,764 BOXES. AUCKLAND RESULTS. I ‘ A record output of butter from the Auckland Province for the expired por» tion of the season has been established (says the Herald). This'is du'e to the fact that ifiany farmers have increased their herds, while others, who Tbrmerly •engaged in sheepfarming, have entered the dairying industry, owing to the favorable prices realised for butter in comparison with those 'for wool and meat. The ‘favorable season experienced so far has resulted in an ’abundance. of feed being available for the herds, consequently an increased milk supply has been experienced. It is anticipated that the total output of otiVteF fbr the year will exceed all expectations,. and that another record will .be established. The quantity of butter received into the Farmers’ Freezing Company’s grading Stores ‘ laSt month totalled 1'00,092 bobees, tMs being a, record. In the previous November, 116,359 boxes were stored, the quantity received during the month just ended being an increase of 43<7 : 33 boXj’eq.- .-To ilate 384,164. boxes of butter have been taken into the Company’s grading stores this year, compared with 283,400-for the corresponding period last year, an increase of 100.764 boxes. This is also a record for the province. The cheese production pp to the present is considerably less than it was a yea>F ago. This is in a (meh-sure due to •the fact that a number of factories which -formerly made cheese, have .gope in -for the manufacture of butter. It is expected, however, that as the season advances, the cheese re’tuihis will increase. DuT-frig Novmber, 19,013 -crates of cheese were received at the grading stores, as againfet 27,702 crates in November of last year. The total number of -crates handled so far this season is 39,216, this being 23,1’17 less than were stored in the saihe peiuo'd last year. During last month 224,875 boxes of butter and 30,600 crates of cheese were shipped to Britain from Auckland. TheVe is only p. small quantity of cheese at present in -store.
