N.P. TECHNICAL COLLEGE.
THE ANNUAL SPORTS. * A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. The annual sports in connection with the New Plymouth Technical College were held yesterday at the racecourse, which had been placed at the disposal of the college by the Taranaki Jockey # Club. The weather was not at all favorable, the rain wLieli fell at intervals during the day militating against the attendance. Nevertheless the organisation was so good that the lengthy programme was got off well to time, a tribute to the work of the director (Mr. A. L: Moore) and his staff, particularly Mr. H. H. Skelton, who did a lot of work. The sports throughout were very keenly contested, the fields being good and tire finishes in most cases close. The girls’ senior championship was annexed by Gladys Hardgreaves. who has won it for the second year In succession, and the junior by Nina Hodges. The championships in the boys have not been finally decided. A dainty afternoon tea was dispensed by the girls of the school, under Miss Wolferstan, the' cookery instructress. The committee wish to express their appreciation to the Taranaki Jockey Club and also to Mr. J. Blewiman, who lent invaluable assistance. Results:— GIRLS. 75 Yards Junior Championship.—E.
