EVERYBODY’S. BLANCHE SWEET IN “FIGHTING CRESSY.” . A Sweet-Harte drama of rugged Califormia is an adequate double description of the feature on the programme at Everybody’s .Theatre to-night. “Fighting Cressy” is the attraction in which Blanche Sweet stars in a Bret Harte story. Bret Hart succeeded as no other author did in putting the romance of one of nature's most beautiful and romantic spots, California, into literature. He knew and loved the great open West “out where the hand clasps a little stronger, out where the smile dwells a little longer.” ‘"Cressy” from which “Fighting Cressy” has been adapted by Fred Myton, is the romance of a true daughter of the West. Spirited, fearless, undaunted, Cressy never needed defending.. She fought her own battles and fought them well. In fact, she succeeded in bringing to an end the bitter feud existing between her family and the Harrisons. Blanche Sweet discloses an entirely new side to her personality in the title role of “Fighting Cressy.” Russell Simpson, Walter Perry, and Frank Lanning are cast in delightful character parts supporting Misiy Sweet. The bill includes gazette, comedy, and “The Lost City." The matinee to-mor-row commences at 2 p.m. THE PEOPLE’S.
