IRISH ARBITRATOR.
SIR ROBERT STOUT SUGGESTED. MR. T. M. WILFORD’S PROPOSAL. Dy Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. In the House this afternoon the Leader of the Opposition (Mr. T. M. Wilford) asked the Premier if he had seen the recent cabled statement of the Lord Chancellor, in which he stated that he thought a Colonial judge should be appointed to make certain adjustments between Britain and Ireland under the agreement just arrived at between those countries, and if he (the Premier) was prepared to suggest to the Imperial authorities that Sir Robert Stout might be selected for that, duty. Mr. Massey said he had every confidence in Sir Robert Stout, and if his services were required he had no doubt he would be communicated with by Mr. Lloyd George, who during the recent negotiations had been in almost daily communication with the Dominion Premiers. His own opinion was that the Lord Chancellor would make his own selection from amongst colonial judges.
