PETROL CONSUMPTION.
WORLD’S RECORD ESTABLISHED IN CHRISTCHURCH. On Saturday, 19th November, the pioneer Sports Club held a Petrol test for solo Motor Cycles., open to all makes of machines. Each competitor had to comply with conditions laid down by the Clubs, as to weighing of machines, emptying of tank, etc. A given quantity of Motor Spirit was then supplied by the officials and the tanks sealed. Competitors left the corner of Selwyn Street and Hazeldean Road at 2 p.m..and followed a course leading round the foot of the hills, through Hoon Bay back to starting point —having to continue on the course until the Petrol supplied was exhausted, at which point they had to wait until picked up by the official car, observers being posted on various points on the route to see that conditions we:e complied with. The results obtained by the first man. C. Bell, of 356 miles per gallon, may fairly be claimed as phenomenal, whilst R. 11. Parker did 214 miles per gallon. Results such as these prove beyond all doubt that the statements made as to what “Big Tree” Motor Spirit will do are genuine, and can be fulfilled to the very uttermost. Give it an honest opportunity, and YOU will get results that will prove to your satisfaction that the claims m”de for "Big Tree” Motor Spirit are only just and reasonable. When you buy “BIG TREE” Motor Spirit you buy mileage,'' and mileage means economy.
Sharland’s Tomato Sauce makes a good addition to Soups and Gravies. It makes them richer and more appetising.
