District Attorney Brady has announced that he will ask the Grand Jury to investigate the alleged attempt to approach Mrs. Hubbard, of the Arbuckle jury, whose stand for the comedian’s ronviction resulted in the jury's discharge. Mrs. Hubbard made a statement •barging Gus Oliva, a merchant, and Erwin, an attorney, with approaching jer husband and with endeavoring to »et him to communicate with her in the jury roo® by a letter urging her co acquit Arbuckle Mrs Hubbard also jharged intimidation against several of Her fellow jurors, including the foreman. She further stated that a police officer had attempted to cammunieate with her in the court room. The defence counsel deny all knowledge regarding charges.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. LONG SESSION OF JURY. San Francisco, Dec. 4. After 44 hours the Arbuckle jury informed the judge that they could not hope •o agree. They had balloted up to two jours before calling for the judge and makug the announcement. One woman was taken ill last night, causing the retirement pf the jury early. The court room was filled with spectator?. Arbuckle and his wife appeyed greatly disappointed, and showed the effect □f the strain when the judge dismissed jury.
