During the summer months it is the intention, of Mr. C. H. Johnston, of Waitara, to considerably improve the transport facilities between Awakino and Waitara, on which road he has been so long and favorably known. He intends to establish a service leaving Awakino early in the morning and arriving in Waitara about 10 a.m... leaving Waitara again about 1 p.m. This will enable the busy out-back settler to have a couple of hours in town t«l transact urgent business and return the same day. In order to cope with this service, he is having a special ’bus built at his M aitara garage, it being roomy and comfortable, to carry about 15 passengers. It will be fitted on an International ton chassis, with pneumatic tyres, and should be eminently suited for the service.
