EXTENSIVE DAMAGE DONE. AN INCENDIARY SUSPECTED. By Telegraph—Pres* Association. Invercargill, Last Night. There has recently been a series of ire* in the Winton district, evidently aan incendiary origin. Two outbreaks n the township within a week- resulted n the destruction of much property and flip death of a woman from shock. The incendiary now seems to be demoting his" attention to form buildings. )n Friday a wool-hed and cowbyre at (he Lady Barkly station was destroyed, ie homestead being entered and money ttolen. On Saturday night, the homettead itself, a large two-storey building, raa destroyed. The police were on the iremises at the time, but the incendiary ras not observed. Residents of the listriet are co-operating with the police, iuads and the bush are being picketed.
