ALL-RED CABLES.
DUPLICATION IN By Telesrapo.—Press As«o.—CoDvrigtt. Received Dec. 2,5 A pan. London, Dee. 1 The Times says that as a result of the great increase in the use of the Ail Red cables proposals are under official consideration for the duplication of the Pacific section. Over 9 000,000 paying words have been transmitted this year, which more than double the number of transmissions before the war. The estimates: cost of duplicaxion is between X 3.000.000 and £4 000.000. Various alternatives are suggested to reduce the coat, notably between Fanning Island and Honolulu, and linking up with American cables, but this is contrary to ihe basic idea of an Al! Red cable.
