COAL STRIKE DEVELOPS.
OTHER MINES INVOLVED. ORDERS TO CEASE WORK. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. So far about twenty men. are out in the coal mine strikes. It is considered the loyal attitude of the Kaitangata men has given the strike a bpd setback, and all the mines will be working in a few days. A leading employer stated that the Labor Department would have to see the court’s award carried as a breach had been committed. Greymouth, Last Night. Stop-work meetings were held to-day at the State and Paparoa mines. The former adjourned till to-morrow and Paparoa till I Tuesday, no work to be done meanwhile. Blackball is also idle, and a stop-work meeting will be held to-morrow. NORTHERN MINES. ORDERS TO STOP. Auckland, Last Night. The mon in the Pukemrro coal mine held a stop-work meeting to-day and decided to cease work. The secretary • afterwards stated that this step was i taken under instructions from the al- •’ Hance. The miners at the Waipa Company’s mine at Glenmassey ceased work l on Wednesday. It is understood similar instructions have been issued to all the miners at the Extended (Huntly) and Rotowaro mines. The miners 1 worked to-dav.
