MAGISTRATE’S COURT. At the sitting of the Magistrate’s Court this week judgment was given for plaintiff in th'e following capes: S. A. Aitken v. T. Northcott £2 ’os; Louis Parsons v. L. Thompson £3 10s; Fred West v. L. ,J. Kinross £4l; L. West v. L. J. Kinross £10; Lyttle and Holmes v. L. J. Kinross 15/2; Blanche Dudley v. J. Greenhill £5O; Lyttle and Holmes v. Henry Martin £3 14s 10d; Rue Moetahana v. M. Coffey £lO 8s; G. »'/. Rogers v. Nare Rangi Kawharaio £lO3 0s 8d; T. P. Hughson and Sons v. Harry Ward £2 2s. On judgment summonses issued by Hughson and Sons George Inia was ordered. to pay £lO Is sd, in default ten days imprisonment, and Rangi Dick was ordered to pay £l6 te xld. in default ten days’ imprisonment; NUho Te Wh.ti was ordered to pay the Egmont County Council £3O 17s 2d at the rate of £5 per month, in default ten days; and at the suit of the same body an order was made against Reti Paku for the payment of £4l Is 4d by December 28, in. default fourteen days’ imprisonment; Piki Kele was ordered to pay E. Vinvent £2 9s by December 28, in default three days’ imprisonment. Orders were made against Finlay Smith for the payment of £1 Ils to R. P. Morrissey, and the sum of £7 17s 6d to Thorpe and Callaghan, imprisonment for certain periods being fixed as the default in each case. On charges of failing to clear noxious weeds on their properties natives named Putangimaiwaku and Daniel Rataro were each fined £5. Noho Te Whiti was convicted and ordered J;o pay costs £1 Bs. Convictions were entered against .Ripo Tutahi and George Manaia. the question of penalty being deferred till next court day. Three charges lodged against John Christ off el by the Egmont County Council under the heavy traffic by-law were adjourned until the January sitting of the court.
