A paragraph in that issue stated that Mr. Thos. H. Bates, of New Plymouth, and Messrs. Clere and Williams, of Wellington, invited tenders for the erection of the building. In point of fact Mr. Bates was the sole Architect for the work and had merely arranged to have the plans deposited for inspection at Messrs. and Williams’ office in Wellington in the same way as they were deposited for inspection by prospective tenderers in other centres.
