Or deru for papers may also be left with them. GENERAL ITEMS. Nov. 29. The following team has been selected to represent the Stratford Tennis Club in a match against Eltham, at the Stratford court on Thursday: Mrs. Weston, Mrs. Lightband, Mrs. Lowry, Misses Curtis. Rigg and Lowry, Messrs. F. Hanford. L. R. Curtis. C. Clark, Wright, Chadwick and Kuck. This is the first inter-club match for this season, but the local players are in good form, and should give a good account of themselves. Two of the courts last week were rather cut up, but the recent rain and the closing of the courts for .Sunday play should have the effect of improving them for the match. The fund for the presentation to Nir. Tyrer, on his retirement from the headmastership of the Stratford District High School, is now open. It is reported that donations are coming in freely, in one case the sum of £l6 10s being given. An Albue Portable Typewriter and carrying case for seven pounds is offered by Wilson Bros., Broadway, Stratford; also a new Corona—the last word in portable typewriters—for seventeen pounds. Call early and see these machines.
