FIGHTING IN MOROCCO.
HEAVY SPANISH LOSSES. By Telegraph. —Press Assn—Copyright Madrid, Nov. 25. The Spanish losses in Morocco since July 10 are 1000 killed and 20,000 wounded or sick. 1 > SUFFERINGS OF BRITISH SOLDIERS. Paris, .Nov. 24. A large party of Englishmen, former members of the Spanish Foreign Legion, has arrived in a deplorable condition. They are penniless and bitter owing to ill-treatment by the Spaniards and the conditions 'in which they were made to live and fight. Four Britishers were killed in action and fifteen wounded in Morocco, where they had to fight a welltrained army with obsolete rifles. London, Nov. 2». Fifty-three haggard Englishmen, clad in odds and ,ends of clothing. Wide-col-lared green shirts, boots of rope and canvas, looking like starved brigands, have arrived from Spain. They are’ the survivors of the secretly recruited English contingent for the Spanish Foreign Legion. Tnev confirm the statement of ill-treatment previously cabled, and* add that just because they could not understand the Spanish words of command I they were beaten with rifle butts, slash'ed with whips and tied to posts.
