WEDDING.
TIDSW ELL—DO YLE. Martha Elizabeth (Mona) Doyle, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Doyle, of Rowan Road,, was married to Oliver Herbert Tidswell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tidswell, of Hawera, on October 26, the wedding service being conducted by the Rev. J. D. Smith, Presbyterian minister of Manaia. The bride was dressed in a pretty white georgette or white crepe de chine, with silver trimming, and wreath and veil, and carried a shower bouquet. She was attended by Miss Barbara Doyle (the bride’s sister), and Miss Mavis Harvey (niece of the bridegroom) as floWer girl. The former wore a dress of heliotrope crepe de chine, with touches of lemon, and hat to match. The flower girl wore a lemon crepe de chine dress, with heliotrope hat. and carried a basket of flowers with, streamers. After the ceremony they were motored to Eltham, where they were entertained by the bride’s parents at the wedding breakfast in the Foresters’ Hall, where the usual toasts were honored. The wedding cake was made by the bride’s mother. The bride’s travelling dress was a grey gaberdine, with georgette hat to match. The happy couple motored south, where the honeymoon is to be spent, midst good wishes from all. The presents were numerous. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a set of military brushes, and the bridegroom’s present to the bride was a lady’s companion. The bridesmaid and flower girl were the recipients of gold brooches.—Star.
