COOK-CARPENTIER FIGHT. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. Received Nov. 24. 5.5 p.nif London, Nov. 23. The Cook-Carpentier fight, has been definitely 'fixed for January 12.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable MEETING AT STRATFORD. The New Zealand bantam professional boxing ch atm pionship takes place at Stratford on January 2 (race night), between Harry Gunn (Timaru) holder, and Charlie Cann (of Wanganui), the ex-champion. This should oe one of the best professional fights staged in Taranaki. Cann, who has just returned from England and Canada, where he took _ part in four fights, three of which he won and the other he drew, is now at his best. Gunn, since defeating Cann by a narrow margin tor the' championship last year, has never been defeated, going fifteen rounds with Jack Janesse, the Australian crack, for a draw. The fight fans are due for a treat when these boys face each other, anti they should draw a packed house.
