WESTON BROS.

STRATFORD’S EXPERT CABINETMAKERS. Messrs. Weston Bros., of Broadway, Stratford, are well known throughout the district for the thorough excellence of their work in manufacturing furniture, and the sample of cabinet-making which they are exhibiting at the Stratford Show today and to-morrow is a striking example of the first-class workmanship which is put into all they make. The exhibit, which will be seen at the entrance to the industrial hall, is a bedroom suite in oak, and as an example of craftsmanship it would be hard to beat. Built to the pattern of no particular period, it is yet of that old English style which is so impressive, and at the same time so serviceable. The principal piece of furniture is a big, handsome wardrobe, 7ft 6ins high and 6ft 4ins in width. The door of the centre portion is made of a full length bevelled mirror, whilst there are projecting circular wings, each having a cupboard for blouses, a cupboard for hats and four drawers. The wardrobe is fitted with antique drop handles, and in itself is well worth inspection. There is a dressing table to match, mounted with a bevelled glass mirror, having circular cupboards and drawers on each side, the lower part having two cupboards and three drawers on each side and two drawers in the centre. This also is fitted with antique drop handles, and can justly be claimed to be a work of art. There are three other pieces, a pedestal cupboard with circular door and drawers, tiled back and towel rails on each side. An occasional table with oval top and very artistic legs and lower stand, and a bedstead with circular front, complete the suite, the whole of which is in oak, fumed and French-polished throughout. The suite was manufactured at Messrs. Weston Bros.’ factory on Broadway, and is well worth inspection.
