CONTROL OF RUGBY.
MB. J. McLEOD’S SCHEME. APPROVED BY CANTERBURY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch. Last Night. At a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union to-night the letter of Mr. J. McLeod, president o-f the New Zealand Rugby Union, relative to the future government of the Rugby game was considered, and the following resolution was carried unanimously: “That the Canterbury Union agree with the principle of Mr. McLeod’s letter and considers some alteration in the form of the governing body is necessary, and that the exact form of such alterations would be better arrived at by a conference of the chairmen of the various unions.” The chairman (Mr. S. W. Wilson) said ho thought Mr. McLeod was to be congratulated on the stand he had taken. (Hear, hear.)
