ELTHAM.
QUEEN CARNIVAL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) November 22. With a view to raising money for the purpose of purchasing instruments and uniforms, z a combined meeting of the Eltham pipe and brass bands was held in the bandroojn on Monday evening to consider the question of holding a queen carnival at some future date. About thirty members attended, arid Mr. Heyes was voted to the chair. After some discussion it'was decided to inaugurate a queen carnival and invite candidates from the following: Friendly Society, town, country, sports, and also a loyal queen. A movement to appoint band candidates was lost. Mr. T. King was appointed general secretary. An executive of four members from each band committee was formed, Messrs. Crabtree, Crawford, Campbell and Morrison (pipe ‘band), and Messrs. Beesley, Heyes, Roger's and H. Andrews (brass band) "being appointed to the position. It, was resolved that each queen candidate be empowered to appoint one representative to the carnival committee. Saturday, December 3, was fixed the date on which nominations for queen candidates will close. The price of each, vote was arranged at twopence. WELL DONE! “My removal was excellent!
