THE WATERSIDERS.

YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS. The watersiders’ Dominion conference was resumed in New Plymouth yesterday. It was decided, to recommend to the transport section of the AiJance of Labor affiliation with the British section of the International Transport Workers’ Federation, and to be represented at the forthcoming conference of international transport workers. It was also decided to advise the Australian Waterside Workers’ Federation that a delegate would be sent to their next annual conference. A number of remits dealing with the conditions of waterfront work were considered. Messrs. S. H. Fournier and L. Glover were nominated for the position of president, and Messrs. R. Gould and Jas. Roberts were nominated for the position of secretary. The election is by plebiscite vote of the whole of the members of the federation, and will be held early in December. The following officers were elected: Vice-president, Mr. J. Flood; committee, J. G. Bruce, O. Mcßrine, N. Campbell, T. Brindle, C. Fraser, J. Cameron, H. McElain, W. E. Agar; trustees, Messrs. J. Laurenson and A. Garrod; auditor, Mr' W. Bolton; managing editor Transport Worker, Mr. Jas. Roberts; paper board committee, Messrs. J. G. Bruce, L. Glover, O. Mcßrine and J. Flood.
