At the Supreme Court, Andrew Mur- ' ray of Frasertown, storekeeper, who pleaded guilty to breaking and entering a/id the theft of goods valued at £5OO was sentenced to two and a half years hard Jabor. HEAVY CLAIM FOR DAMAGE. Napier, Nov. 21. In the Supreme Court Frank Harris,, sculptor and stonemason, Auckland, sought to recover £16.000 from the directors of the Coromandel Granite Co. for alleged breach of agreement. The company was formed to exploit a certain granite quarry at Coromandel and piaintiff was engaged as manager and organiser. He was to receive one-fifth share in the new company. Plaintiff , claimed that he carried out his duties ( in a thorough manner, but alleged that defendants had belittled his ability in his official capacity and placed him in a false position. He had no alternative but to resign. He claimed as follows: £12,000 as his share of the company; J £lOOO for the trouble and expense he ' was put to; £2OOO for lost profits; £lOOO general damages. ' The defence was a denial of the alle- ' gations and that plaintiff was not en- i titled to the share claimed. They did ; not place the same construction on the agreement. The case is proceeding.
