THE FINANCIAL DEFICIT. GERMANS CAPTURING TRADE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Capetown, Nov. 18. Commercial circles in Johannesburg confirm the statement that Germany is making large captures of trade formerly done by Britain, particularly in mining material, at prices such as eliminate the idea of British competition. The continued revenue shortage is causing perturbation in official circles'in Capetown, especially in view of the possible closing down of the low grade mines aggravating the unemployment problem. The deficit is expected to be greater than estimated.
