SUPREME COURT.
PRISONERS SENTENCED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 18. In the Supreme Court, Hugh Eric Pinfold, on a charge of breaking and entering and theft, was ordered to be detained for reformative purposes for two years. Norman Allen William Bigley, for the theft of jewellery and clothing, was admitted to probation for three years under conditions, and to pay the costs of the prosecution and the sums owing to second-hand dealers. Lionel Stewart, for breaking, entering and theft, was formally sentenced to a month’s hard labor, with a recommendation that he be sent back to Weraroa Training School. CHRISTCHURCH SESSIONS. Christchurch, Nov. 18. In the Supreme Court Alfred Jeynes, extradited from Australia, was sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment for having obtained £1558 from E. A. Langford, builder, by false representations. Thomas Long and Frederick Dacre were each fined £5O, in default three months’ imprisonment, for bookmaking.' Each was given a year to pay the fine, the sum to be paid in quarterly instalments.
