THE 10CUSED ACQUITTED. By Telegraph—Press Association Christchurch, Last Night. At the Supreme Court. Alfred S. Denton was acquitted on a charge of the manslaughter of Frank Keenan on June 7. Accused was in charge of a horse and cart and the Crown alleged he was drunk, driving on the wrong side of the road and net carrying lights. Keenan was riding in a taxi which came into collision with the cart. He was struck by the shaft and had his left arm and several ribs broken. After admission to hospital he developed delirium tremens and died from shock, following on injuries associated with the condition of chronic alcoholism.
