In the Assembly, Mr. Whiteside, Independent, moved a no-eonfidence motion in the Government for not having bought sufficient ships. It was defeated by 20 votes to 6. DEATH OF ALLEGED MURDERER. Holly Copeland, aged 46, who was ar•'rested on Wednesday on a charge of having murdered Marie Ward at Redfern last '.Tuesday, was found in great agony in his cell on Thursday and removed to the hospital, where he died at practically the same hour as the victim of the murder. __ ' WHEAT FOR! The Graziers’ Association .scheme for the voluntary subdivision of large estates, which was recently placed before the Government, is now regarded as. practically dead. After the special committee appointed to prepare details submitted its report to the council of the Graziers’ Association it was decided to refer the matter to the next annu il meeting of the association.
