Mr. Watts, a Communist member of the London County Council, endeavored to induce the education committee to include in the schools curriculum a short history of the Russian revolution, written by Communists and compiled from Communist sources. The proposal startled the committee, which was inclined to treat it as a joke. Mr. Watt a asserted the proposal was sincere, but it was negatived by 32 votes to 2. STEAMER STRIKES WHARF. Received Nov. 17, 7.30, p.m. Suva, Nov. 17. The Commonwealth steamer Araluen,, en route from Suva to Levuka, the Levuka wharf and smashed right’ through. The damage to the steamer 1 amounts to £2OOO.
