QUELLING MALABAR REBELLION.
TROUBLE AT CALCUTTA. By Telegraph.— Press Assn.—Copyright. Delhi, Nov. 14. Numerous skirmishes have occurred in connection with military drives against the Moplah rebels, in which the rebels have suffered considerable losses. The British casualties are slight. It is officially stated that in the past fortnight the position has become more satisfactory. There have been a considerable number of surrenders, a#id reinforcements are arriving in the distubed areas. Trouble occurred among the native police in Calcutta. A meeting of three hundred, after listening to an address from a non-co-operator agitator, roughly handled the European sergeant who was trying to dissuade.them from striking. They then burned their uniforms.
