“When yon found the bottle of whisky in the fowlhouse, did you notice a dog tied up there?” asked Mr. Noble to Constable Devine during the hearing of a liquor ease at Masterton. “Yes, there was a dog near there,” was the reply. “The. old man had a bottle of whisky in the fowlhouse, and a dog to look after it—a very wise old man,” commented counsel, amid laughter.
