KAPONGA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The monthly meeting >of the school eonnnitr.ee was held on Monday evening, there being present: MessYs. Ward (chair), Hislop, Hill, J. Guy, Avery, Kohely. The Jiearlm-aster’s report was received. It stated that the average attendance for the past, month was 96. On the occasion of the visit of the Gov-ernor-General to Auroa on the 27th ult. some 50 pupils were taken down per lorry to be present at the unveiling of the soldiers’ memorial. The school cricket matches for the shield presented by the Taranaki Association (won last year by Auroa school) are to be started on the * I fit h inst. It was decided to pre prizes to the children at the end of the year, Messrs. Ward and Avery to interview the headmaster and arrange for same.
