WEDDINGS.

MOORBY—ANDERSON. At St. Paul’s Church on Wednesday, November 2, the wedding was solemn ised by the Rev. E. Harries, of Mr. John Frederick Moorby, second son of Mr. and Mrs. James Moorby, of New Plymouth, and Miss Marjorie Jessie Watt Anderson, only- daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. George Watt Anderson, of M anganui East. The church was crowded with friends and relatives of the bridal pair. Miss Turvey presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. J. McGraii, looked charming in a beautiful gown of ivory satin and cream Paris lace, exquisitely embroidered with pearls. She also wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and carried a lovely shower bouquet of white and pale pink flowers The bridesmaids were Miss Lilias Russell, friend of the bride, and Miss Lena Moorby, sister of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. J. A. Mackay, of Kohuratahi, as best man and Mr. S. Guthrie, of Wanganui, as groomsman.

WALKER—FREI. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the Presbyterian Church, Hawera, on Wednesday, September 21, when Miss Alice Frei, of Normanby, was married to Harold Howard, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Walker, of Ohangi. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. B. Gray, of Hawera. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. David Frei, looked very nice in her bridal robes of white georgette over charmeuse and beautifully trimmed with pearls, and wore the usual veil and orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white flowers and asparagus fern. Miss Mary Frei, sister of the bride, who looked dainty in a pale blue frock of crepe de chine and pretty hat to match, was bridesmaid, and also carried a bouquet of blue and white flowers. Mr. W. Carruthers acted as best man. The happy couple left l,y (rain for the north. The bride’s travelling dress was a smart navy gaberdine costume relieved with henna, and pretty henna hat to match. —Star.
