PACIFIC POWERS.
PLEA FOR ALLIANCE. ADVOCATED BY JAPAN. friendly agreement. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrlgrt. Washington, Nov. 4. Interviewed by the United Press, Prince Tokugawa, in reply to a question whether Japan would be willing to abrogate the Anglo-Japanese Alliance, to obviate the great opposition in the United States, said: “Don’t you think there could be an understanding between Japan, the United States and Britain? We three nations ought to shake hands and continue our respective courses in a friendly way. Personally I am anxious that such an understanding should be arrived at. It would go far towards securing a world peace. The United States may be unable to join an alliance, but the form does not matter so long as there can be a friendly understanding among the three Powers.”
