A British bank engaged in foreign trade in 1914 borrowed 750,000 roubles, then worth £75.000, depositing securities with the Russian Commercial Bank. When the Russian bank sought repayment' it demanded £78,000, but the | Chancery Court has decided that the , loan was repayable in roubles, and therefore £5O would suffice to redeem the mortgage and securities.
