SHUNTER BADLY INJURED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ' Taihape, Last Night. A young man named Sydney Dash,; employed as a shunter on the railways 1 at Taihape, was knocked down by a moving truck to-day. His right leg was badly crushed and had to be amputated above the knee, in addition to which injuries two fingers of the right hand have to be amputated. ACCIDENT AT A young man named Stratfbrd, a well-known footballer, had the misfortune to have his hand badly crushed and his arm broken in two place at the Whenuakura factory on Tuesday. The injured man is progressing as favorably as can be expected under the circumstances.
