CHEAPER MONEY.
BANK RATE REDUCED. EFFECT IN NEW ZEALAND. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Nov. 3. The bank-rate has been reduced from 55 to 5 per cent. By Telegraph—Press Arsociatlon. Wellington, Last Night. In the House to-day Mr. Massey said he had received information that the bank rate of interest in Britain had fallen to five per cent., which would have the effect of reducing the bank rate in the Dominion. Indeed, only yesterday a financial expert who came to see him on another matter assured him that he believed we were on the eve of an era of cheap money.
