AMERICAN RELIEF. MR. HOOVER’S FURTHER APPEAL. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received Nov. 3, 10 p.m. Washington, Nov. 2. Mr. Hoover testified before the House ■Military Affairs Committee that American relief workers are now caring for one million three hundred thousand children in the famine regions of Russia, five million others are near starvation. He urged Congress immediately to turn over the surplus army supplies of medicines and blankets to the Relief Commission. . The Senate carried a resolution that Armistice Day be a national holiday •Aus.-N.Z.’ Cable Assn.
