What struck Mr. W. T. Jennings, M.P., very much while in Ireland in the course of his recent tour, was the number of old people and the number of women with babies. Other New Zealanders had been struck with the same things. Ireland seemed very prosperous- in the farming districts, and Mr. Jennings said he did not know what a pig was until he went to the pig fair at Tralee —“pigs nearly as big as cows.”
“Americans have called New Zealand the breeding ground for purebred stock. It is a good compliment to the stockraisers in the Dominion, and an endeavor should be made to make it an established reality.”—So said a speaker at the A. and P. Society’s gathering at Carterton.
The Auckland Advertising Club recommends that a sum. of at least £lO,OOO per annum be spent in advertising New Zealand. THE WONDER MAN.
