PRESSING NEED FOR REFORM NATIONAL EFFORT URGED. ■ LEVY TO OBTAIN FINANCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night.' ’ Mr. Stuart Wilson has presented » petition to Parliament urging “Thai New Zealand has lost huge sums by iti defective method of marketing and dia tributing its primary products, and thai there is pressing need of reform, whicl can only be effective if properly sup ported by finance.” He contends there would be great difficulty in doing anything separate!j by sectional organisation, and therefore prays for a national effort on the part of the whole people of New Zealand, bj which a sum of at least £750,000 fl year should be raised for the purpose bj a levy of one per cent, of the value on all produce exported, and by a corresponding levy on all persons in New Zealand whose prosperity is dependent oi the efforts of the primary producers. Parliament is urged this session ti give its earnest and favorable attention to this problem, for the prosperity of the whole Dominion is dependent on a satisfactory solution.
