WAIKATO STOCK MARKET. The Panniers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— At Hamilton on Thursday, October 27, we had a moderate yarding of sheep and a full supply of cattle and pigs. The beef pens were filled and competition throughout was keen and well sustained. Values advanced a little on last week’s rates. Best steers made from £9 10s to £l3 Is, lighter weights £6 15s to £8 15s. Fat cows were in strong demand making from £5 to £G 2s, fresh conditioned cows were also well competed for, realising front £3 to £3 16s, store cows £1 to £1 15s. Store cattle generally showed a considerable briskness and everything with very slight exception was cleared with satisfaction to vendors. 3 to 3%-year steers made to £6 ss, 2-yettr steers, Hereford and Shorthorn cross to £4 Is for the best, others «£2 Iflp to £3 ss. Ti e empty heifers yarded were all of inferior quality, £4 15s being the top figure, others to £5 10s. others £3 10s to £4, small mixed yearlings 25s to 28s, Shorthorn hulls £3 15s to £5 10s. (From Our Own Correspondent.) There was a large attendance at Newton King’s (Ltd.) mart sale on Saturday morning, for though the sale was held at 11.30 u-i» » instead of 1 p.m., the public had been prepared for the change by advertisement, and duly rose to the occasion. The baby calves at the mart sold at ironi 5s to 14s for betters. Only one bull calf was offered—a Jersey. It 1 realised 14s. Pigs sold readily. Slips made from 26s to 375, stores 565, purebred White Leghorn chicks Is Id, cocks and hens Is 3d to 2* Gd, ducks Is 9d to 2s 3d. A horse offered made £lO, and the general sundries assembled for competition went off well at good prices. LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Hawera branch), report as follows: At Opunake sale and bull fair on the 17th instant store cows realised 13s to 20s; empty heifers, to £4: springing heifers, £5 to £l3: calved heifers, £l7; grade Jersey bulls (best), 18% guineas to 29 guineas; Shorthorn and Holsteins, various ages; £2 to £5 15s. At Kakaramea, on the same day, grade Jersey bulls made £lO 10s to £l2 12s; yearling pedigree Jerseys, £9 9s; Shorthorn and Holstein, various ages, 2% guineas to 5 guineas; springing heifers, £G 10s to £l3; calved heifers, £5 10s to £l4. At Manaia sale and bull fair on the 18th instant grade Jersey maiden bulls made £5 5s to £l6 16s; good conditioned store cows to £2 2s Gd ; Jersey yearling heifers, £8; springing heifers (backward and inferior), to £5. At Palmer Road sale and bull fair, on the 21st instant, yearling pedigree Jersey bulls realised 12% guineas to 25 guineas; grade maiden Jersey bulls, £ll Ils to 20 guineas; Shorthorn and Holstein, various ages, 16s to £4 4s; fat cows, £5 5s to £6 Is; fat and forward cows, £2 3s to £4 13s; stores, 20s to 325; springing heifers, £9 10s to £l6; cows (best), to £25 10s. At Kakaramea, on the 25th instant, springing heifers, to £11; second culvers, to £l5; yearling heifers, 34s to £2 4s; Jersey yearling heifers, £5 15s.
