The House of Commons Channel Tunnel Committee has issued a booklet containing Marsha] Foch’s opinion that had there been a tunnel in pre-war times it might have prevented the war. Had the British and French possessed a tunnel in 1914 it would have shortened the war at least two years. Received Oct. 30, 5.5 p.m. London, Oct. 28. At the Imperial fruit show in Crystal Palace there was a splendid display of British and Canadian apples.
