OFTEN DEPRESSED.
DELUSIONS WHEN DRUNK. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. An inquest was held to-day at Port Chalmers concerning the death of Thos. McCutcheon (41), a railway surfaceman, who hanged himself at Purakanui on Wednesday evening. His widow deposed that deceased was moody and depressed, especially if he had drink, and latterly he had a delusion that she had turned the children against him. On the daj of his death he returned from Dunedin under the influence of liquor. A brother also deposed that deceased was always more or less depressed, probably as the result of an accident in childhood. A formal verdict of suticiae by hangmg was returned.
