The New York Times’ Washington correspondent states a dramatic scene occurred in the House of Representatives when, by 203 votes to 113, it rejected a resolution to expel Representative Blanton, but by 298 votes to nothing adopted a resolution censuring him for placing obscene and indecent matters into the Congressional record and official Hansard. The Speaker call-

ed Mr. Blanton before him and solemnly voiced the censure. Mr. Blanton fainted and then recovered, and with’ tears in his eyes left the chamber. The galleries were crowded when Mr. Blanton spoke for an hour and a half in his own defence, the audience sometimes hissing. He asserted he would like to send copies of the censured mattoi to every man and woman in his State, Atlanta.
